About the Jamaica Conference Board

The Jamaica Conference Board (JCB) is a research and advisory body that provides a platform for the development and exchange of business knowledge. Through close interaction with its membership base and partners, as well as original research, the JCB acquires information on key economic and public policy matters, provides value-added analysis, and in turn disseminates this within its membership. This allows for Board partners and other participants in Board-driven activities to anticipate and act on the new realities of the dynamic world economy.

The Jamaica Conference Board is a non-profit organisation whose development arose because of a perceived need for more objective information and greater transparency in Jamaica’s business processes. It is a project of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce and has received start-up assistance from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The official launch of the newly established JCB was held at Le Meridien Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Monday, December 10, 2010 (View photographs of this and other events).

Our Mission

The aim of the JCB is to provide key decision makers with the knowledge and information needed to make better business decisions. Our goal is to help create more profitable and sustainable private sector businesses in Jamaica. We also work with government entities to make them more responsive to the needs of the private sector: particularly, to make them more business friendly. The Jamaica Conference Board does not seek to dictate business decisions; rather, we aim to provide your business with the best information possible, enabling you to make the right choices.

Our Products

The Jamaica Conference Board is committed to providing useful information to Jamaica’s business leaders. We are an objective, non-partisan and non-advocacy body, and as such,
are able to offer independent and unbiased products, such as:

  • Business & consumer confidence indices;
  • Original research;
  • Monthly forums on topical business issues;
  • Reports;
  • Periodic conferences and seminars;
  • Monthly newsletters, viz. the Business Intelligence Report and The Trade Report.

Sponsorship Policy

Member companies may consider it important to be identified with particular issues of strategic importance to their enterprises, and accordingly, may wish to sponsor specific research projects or specific forums and conferences.
